Key Storylines:
Michael is a doctor. He's first introduced while out camping: he comes across a bedraggled Wayne, who's out hunting for a shack where he believes his wife, Susan, has gone with Glen Young.

Michael's only main storyline revolves around the relationship with his brother, Nick: he has always believed that Nick shot the third Benson brother, Jason, deliberately during a camping trip when they were young. Nick has always insisted that Jason's death was an accident.

Other than this, Michael spends most of his time tending to the illnesses of other characters, or providing an ear when people want someone to talk to. He finds himself the object of Janice Reid's affections, but manages to put her off gently.
